How we approach lawn care
A good lawn is about timing. Mow too short in a drought and it scorches; scarify at the wrong moment and you set it back; feed late and the soft growth gets cut by the winter. We do each job when it should actually be done, through the season.
Moss and thatch are the usual culprits in a Dublin South Side lawn — damp, shaded clay and our wet weather let moss take hold. We scarify to pull out the thatch and moss, aerate to open up compacted ground, and feed at the right time so the grass crowds the moss out over a season or two.
Some clients want a regular mowing visit — a set day each fortnight or month, the same gardener, the lawn kept right through the year. Others want a one-off seasonal service: a spring scarify and feed, or an autumn overseed. We do both, and we reseed bare or thin patches so the lawn fills back in.

Frequently asked
Why do we have moss in the lawn?
Moss usually means compacted or damp soil, shade, or low nutrients. We scarify and aerate, address drainage and shade where we can, and feed at the right time. A healthy, well-cared-for grass sward crowds the moss out over a season or two.
Do you do regular mowing visits?
Yes. We can set up a regular visit — a set day each fortnight or month, the same gardener, the lawn and edges kept right through the year. Or a one-off seasonal service if you prefer. Call to arrange what suits you.
When should a lawn be scarified?
Spring and early autumn are the best times, when the grass is growing strongly enough to recover. Scarifying in a drought or during cold weather sets the lawn back. We time it to the season so the lawn bounces back quickly.
Can you fix bare patches in the lawn?
Yes. We reseed bare and thin patches after preparing the soil, and choose a seed mix suited to your lawn's light and wear. With watering, the new grass fills in over a few weeks.
